Gareth Hollands is a Senior Research Associate in the Behaviour and Health Research Unit (BHRU), in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge.

He is also an Investigator on Behaviour Change by Design, a Collaborative Award in Science funded by Wellcome.

He studied Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, followed by a range of clinical and research roles, and completed a PhD in Health Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.

His research primarily focuses on developing and evaluating interventions to change health-related behaviours scalable to population level. Particular interests include interventions that change environmental cues to behaviour and related mechanisms, the effects of communicating highly salient risk information (e.g., aversive visual images, genetic risks), and conducting related systematic reviews.
